Hi all,

Can anyone recomend a way to unlock an iPhone 3GS for free? I see various websites with with instructions to jailbreak but I just need to unlock. Any recommendations?

I believe you need to jailbreak it first to be able to unlock it, they kind of go hand in hand from what I recall

Pretty sure when I did mine I had to jailbreak it to allow the unlocking hack to work. Without the jailbreak the hack won't run due to the security in the OS.

You may be able to ring the provider the phone is locked to and have them unlock it for you, vodafone I know do this for free once out of contract.

Think of it as a two year old Android device, but with better apps and... well just better.

Really ?, must be different in his country then since my mothers hand down example ( off my sister ) was certainly not
She's got their 4s now - at least she'll be able to tether now anyway

The other apps on it were frankly just annoying

That will have more to do with your mothers taste than general availability of good apps.

4s is twice as good as the 4, your mother should get lots of good use out of that.
