All photos on my S3 gone!
I installed a major software upgrade on my Galaxy s3 and now all my photos are gone!
Is there anything I can do about this?

If you have Google+ set to auto backup then they'll be there, even the great iPhone won't auto backup if you disable the iCloud or other backup services.
Did you have the default storage location set to internal or memory card?

Do you use Facebook on the phone? If so, Facebook automatically takes all your photos off your phone and stores them all in your account.
It also does the same with your contacts, not many people know that

Thanks.
I definitely had drop box switced off as I've checked and there are only a handful of photos which I took when the phone was first bought.
How do I check if they may be on google +. I can't see an app for it.
Also how do I check if the default setting was to store the photos on the phone or sd card? I can't see it under the 'settings' widget.
Thanks for your help

He would still have (potentially) lost them on an iPhone if he had turned automatic syncing off (like it sounds he may have done) so I'd give up before you start on that!
By default, auto syncing is turned on so no-one can lose photos unless they specifically choose not to back them up.

My bad!
It turns out that my SD card had clicked out of its slot. I clicked it back in and all the photos are of course back. I've learned my lesson though so I'll set up a back up function.
Thanks to all those that tried to help
