Hiya mate I've got a go pro hd white, I think? It's a great piece of kit, although I haven't really used it that much. Anything that I have done with it hasn't been great but that's mainly been down to my dreadful camera skills. With a bit of thought and practice I think it could yield good results. Enjoy ...

Thanks Ant,

Possible group buy as well.
I need to get some feedback before I commit so all information is handy.

Ease of use is what I'm after Joe, that's key as I'm not a gadget person in reality.
Why don't you use it much Joe, do you find it a pain to set up?
I also need to find out what mounts I will need for the car and bike, the costs are starting to rack up here!

ive been looking at them a lot also for my MTB activities,

What im against is the lack of steady shot on the Camera. i think personally im going to get the new Garmin Virb
http://sites.garmin.com/virb/

Ive checked out the sony and thats very good, but not as many options for it. the Virb just seems to tock all the boxes for me

No case needed

Links to the Edge 810

If i went go pro it would have to be the new Hero +

It's a big investment and I need to consider other makes.
Reading the other thread I had not realised that run time was as little as an hour or so .

The Rally TV crew I work with use the Go Pro instead of the old puddle cams, they swear by them, they have them in Costco at the mo too.

Just noticed one of the deals of the week on eBay is a Hero3 Black for ~£234. Heck of a saving.

Yeah its because the new Hero + range is out,

But the saving is over 100 quid, Check out you tube also for comparisons, I have to be honest everyone I see of the Go pros isn't the best Picture,

The sony wins in my book for visuals with steadycam and colouration, garmins a good option because your not pissing about with cases you just grab it and go, just like the Drift Ghost Steve Peat uses on the Santa Cruz Solo ( 5010 ) Video

but at 109 that sony is bloody good value

One thing to bare in mind are these, for your IPhone
http://www.optrix.com/

The video on an iPhone is good and we all carry our phones with us right ? map my Ride Strava, check that out running looks good, plus 5S now has steady shot also

No Go pro use their own ***** mount, the sony stuff uses the standard camera mounts (m6 screwed) So can be used with pretty much anything
