Default Kaspersky internet security 2013, don't upgrade to 2014.

Ive had really slow web browsing for the last few days where its been virtually impossible to do most normal things involving a web broswer, i was scratching my head trying to work out what ive changed in the last few days.

The culprit was Kaspersky internet security 2014, i was previously on 2013 and upgraded a few days ago to 2014. While 2014 was installed i turned it off and the web browsing were perfect, i uninstalled it and put 2013 back on and things seem to back to normal with quick web browsing.

After doing a google search its a known issue where a lot of people are having the same issue with internet security 2014, if you plan on buying it i wouldn't bother until they have a stable release.

I wonder what it is that gives you so much confidence in Microsoft security when their operating systems need constantly patching because of security issues, no one in their right mind would use IE for anything that contains important information.

If your happy with Security essentials than thats fine, it was just advising anyone thats already using Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 not to upgrade to 2014 as their is a bug thats slowing down browsing to a crawl.

Fair enough then, i wouldn't use MSE to protect windows, its windows 7 that i'm using myself hence i wouldn't trust MSE to protect that.

Oh dear. OSX is not safer than Windows 7/8. It is universally accepted by IT professionals that the latest Windows OS is far more secure than OSX. Google it and you'll see.

I stopped using Kaspersky many many years ago primarily because it had grown to a resource hungry and intrusive software...much like McAfee and Norton.

If you want paid antivirus then Nod32 still provides a efficient AV that doesn't kill your system's performance...hell if it runs OK on a Pentium III without slowing it down, then its pretty damn efficient.

It doesn't really affect me with the build i have as it will never eat into the resources, that will only come into play if your running a fairly normal spec pc or laptop. I agree though that for average use its resource heavy, i wouldn't use it if i had a lesser spec PC thats for sure. Its very good and one of the best around if you have the pc to run it.
