gimmick, i bought one for kids and gave up trying to use it for the internet and went back to laptop.

Gimmick, phablets have seemingly no benefits over a phone/tablet. I've never looked at my phone (htc one mini) and wished it was bigger, conversely I can't think of a situation where I've wished my iPad was smaller or pocketable.
