Netgears all singing / dancing Cable/ ADSL modem router has died on me ...
6 months old, and it started to disconnect constantly and required rebooting 2-3 times a night ...
Now it ill connect but refuses to sync and does sod all...
Swapped my old belkin back in , and its solid as a rock.... Netgear in, and nothing ....
£180 down and its going back tommorow.... seriously not impressed

I had a wndr4500 dual band , it was ****e, same problem as you, just kept dropping Wan. Bought a billion router, superb range, never loses internet and rapid fast login for connection.. I have also a netgearcwn2000rpt extender to further increase range and this also drops connection. Don't buy Netgear

That's what I was led to believe but I now need to take my N66 back to the shop (PCWorld ). It was fine for a couple of months but then all of a sudden it would not keep a stable wireless connection to anything (2 x laptops, 2 x phones, TV, Blu-Ray, etc.). It gets pretty warm and I'd heard about them overheating so I turned it off for a bit but it was still the same after cooling down. I therefore conclude it is knackered. Swapped back to the Netgear N150 I got free from PlusNet and it's fine albeit not as fast and no 5GHz.
I may have just been unlucky though

I had to manually change some settings at my old gaff as the Asus wasn't dealing well with somebody on the same frequency as me, usual cause of instability. Then I updated to the latest firmware and all was fine after that. I still rate it as the best router I have owned, just gutted I cannot use it with Sky or BT Infinity (we have 2 broadbands).
Why do you say you can't use it on BT Infinity? That's what I've got albeit sold to me by PlusNet but it's still the same service - FTTC.
