Default Call of Duty Ghosts.. GTA5.... all getting a bit too much?

I've just spent the last hour watching various GTA5 videos to see what all the hype is about. I used to love the original GTA3, Vice City, and I stopped playing after San Andreas. I had GTA4 but never got into it like I did with the others.

I'm also a big COD fan and loved MW2, World at War, and the most recent Black Ops 2. All these new games coming out just seem to get more and more complicated and 'interactive' each time a new title is realised.

GTA5 which I've just been looking at seems like there's so much to do is it all really necessary? I loved just the simplicity of GTA3 and Vice City but there's an incredible amount of online content for GTA5 now I can't see myself properly getting into this title either. All these mini-games and everything; there's no way that you could possibly do everything in the game. I do want to get sucked into this game as I think it'll be great to play, but on the other hand it all just seems overwhelming with things to do and complete.

Anyone else have similar to views to me on this? Slightly hard to explain but I hope you can see what I'm getting at.

Have to agree.
Bit like the battlefield series. Bf3 has shed loads of rifles/pistols to chose between - unlike the earlier versions, with one pistol and a couple of rifles. Add in different sights/accessories makes it a minefield (at least there is only one mine ) to choose the best combo......

Well, I'm on the last mission of GTA4, and it's taken me ages. The push to complete it was GTA5... but I don't do online gaming, so I don't know whether or not this next episode is going to be for me.....
Will have to see.

I think they have swapped originality and gameplay for content now, as if loads of content and different varieties of it is the be-all and end-all.

But you can guarantee a great game with atmosphere will come along for the next gen consoles at some point. And the more capable the consoles get, the more amazing these good games could be.

Despite what I've said, I've just pre-ordered GTA5 for £5.

Will be trading in GTA4 and Assassins Creed 3.

GTA 4 was brilliant. The story was great to see unfold.
BF3 I find far more involving than COD now, in fact I don't think I played COD after COD4.
