Default Ipad Internet connection issues

Hi all.

I've an ipad 2 with the latest updates, yet periodically I loose my Internet connection. If I go to settings and wifi, I can always see my router, but it fails to auto connect, if I connect manual I sometimes get "unable to connect", then eventually it connects.

Anyone else have the same issue?

Also my Router is a 6mth old BT home hub.

Thanks Rob

What did you Jon, just ring BT? My misses has had the issue on her iPad a few times, but nothing like I'm experiencing

I phoned sky and they ran me through the usual checks, switch it off and back on, prove a wired connection on my laptop etc and then they sent a new router. I've also discovered that most routers have various channels and if your neighbours have the same router on the same channel it'll cause issues, BT should be able to guide you through the router settings to change the channel - I know the sky and lot of commercial routers but not how to do it on the BT hub. They should give you an IP address to get you to the router homepage and your login and password so you check your settings.

Since we got the new router ours has had no issues

This^^^. Also download VStumbler to see what channels are in use by others and set the router channel least used or at least 2 channels away from the others.

My problems ended when I switched my BT Homehub to a Asus DSL-N55U, sadly I have to go back to the BT Homehub now as I am switching to Fibre.

If your problem persists, then I have a router for sale lol

I get this ALL the time on my iPad 3 and iPhone 4S... Regardless of what wifi I'm using.
It just drops off.. I then have to go into settings and turn aeroplane mode on then off again..

It's a real pain in the ***... It must be a firmware thingy as my old iPad and itouch have NO problems what so ever regardless of wifi.. But they are both stuck on iOS 3 iirc.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help...!

I found I had to do a full reset to factory settings to get mine to work, then of course the software updates rolled in and ruined it all again.

Reboot was a short term, maybe a few hours to a day fix at best.

Highly likely to be linked to your wifi power saving settings if it is fixed at the phone end...
