Default "Dropbox"? Anyone know about it?

It's come up in my e-mails, do I want to instal drop-box?

But not much about what it is, or does?

Is it useful? Safe to instal?

Cloud based storage that integrates well with smart phones. You can add a pin to it so it's reasonably secure too.

It's cloud storage, you get 2gb space free with the option to increase that space. I've been using it years but never for anything important. Now i'm thinking about using it for storing a backup of all my important data/photos as I have 50gb free again through Samsung until sometime in 2015. I'm just trying to find out how secure/safe/reliable it is, allegedly everything is encrypted and stored in multiple data centres which is tempting me to trust it and start using for important stuff.

Another one i'm looking at is Mega.co.nz which are fairly new on the scene and offer 50gb free currently for new signups. Again encrypted from the moment the data leaves your pc to being stored on their servers but the difference being you hold the encryption keys to your data. I've got an account and played with it and waiting to see how it develops in the next few months with client software and apps etc.
