Wet iPhone
As above my wife dropped her iPhone 4S in the toilet needless to say its fubar'd. We tried it in a sealed bag of rice for 48hours but it still doesn't power up. The question is can we retreave any photos ect off it? The phone is being replaced under the insurance which is fortunate.
Cheers in advance.

I don't know if she had it synced with cloud or not we've just had a baby 3 weeks ago so there's some baby pics on there. I have most of the pics on my phone I think. Fingers crossed.

The red dot means the indicator has been wet. That could be a dunk in the ocean or a lucky bogey strike. It does not mean your phone will not turn on.

For the sake of a fiver for a new battery of the 'Bay it's worth a try - have rescued a few like this!
The battery is a very easy fit - just two little screws holding down the connector, and its lightly stuck down on sticky tape. 5 min job end to end.
So don't give up hope yet...

How do people drop phones in the toilet? Personally when I'm feeling the need I am well aware there is a bowl of probably not too clean water right by me. If I was making a call or hand the phone in my hands it's put well out of the way before I get anywhere near the bowl.

A professional data recovery firm should have no issue getting the data off the phone. The phone does not have to be powered up for them to be successful. All they will have to do is take the phone apart and link up to the memory chips directly.
The tough part will be making the connection, and being able to read the data in the right format. I cannot see you getting the job done for less than £200 though, not unless you know someone who has the right kit and won't mind taking a bash at it.
