Looking for some help
I had an email from yahoo saying my account had tried to be accessed from an ip in Russia,i also had a few dodgy emails but havnt opened them.
Went to change my password but cant access my account,when i enter user name and password i get a window that appears with a security question which isnt mine,so i cant login.
Any body else had same problems ?
I've messaged yahoo but still waiting a reply

Are you 100% sure the first email you got was from Yahoo?

Could have been a phishing scam and you tried logging in which actually gave the hackers your password?

I'm pretty sure it was yahoo as i was already logged in to account,it also tried sending emails to some of my contacts showing my email address but i didnt send them ,my missus recieved 1 but we didnt open that and deleted it.
Done a google search and it seems its a major problem with millions affected with yahoo accounts.
I cant access mine now and i need it for my business.

I'd put money on it being this!

Logged in to your account, then receive a message telling you of access somewhere else, try to change password using your original password and you have basically sent them your access details.

Nothing I can help with unfortunately but just be a bit more wary!

I was already logged in to yahoo ,had an email from 'yahoo' stating they blocked apparent account access attempt from Russia,when i went to change my password later on pc i couldn't access yahoo as a security question keeps popping up which isn't mine so im basically locked out.
I havn't recieved any replies from yahoo since reporting the matter.

im in the same boat but cannot access my account at all without answering a security question which i have never set hence i dont know the answer to. i cant find an actual contact number for yahoo, only an email address which is sort of useless as i cant gain access to the account to email them!!!

No idea then unless the pc's you guys use are infested with keyloggers etc.?

Girlfriend hasn't been able to get into yahoo account for months, some new protocol test questions and other trickery to perform first. No idea if it's been hacked

Told her open Gmail account instead
