Default aftermarket coolers

Is there a good aftermarket cooler I can buy for my i5 cpu that will fit my stock mounting basr as I really cant be bothered to strip the pc down to fit a cooler. Its an asus p67 motherboard if that makes any difference?

Steve

Does it have the 1155 socket ? I presume it does.

This is a great cooler for the money,

You'll have to put the backplate on and add some thermo past which you know anyway but its a fairly easy fit and it gives great air cooling, i had one before i bought a Phanteks, i used the 612S on an i5 as well, the 3570K. Its a big cooler so just make sure you have enough room to fit it in, also what RAM do you have ? Is it low profile, if you have tall RAM you will be restricted on coolers.

Hi Steve

I've tried few of them and probably best is Noctua NH-D14,CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ is great CPU cooler too,if you want go down the route of the Corasir Hydro series,H-100 is worth to consider

If watef cooling will fit without strippi g the pc I dont mind. I would rather buy a cheap i7 cpu then have a reaso to strip the pc than strip it for a cooler.

Jura I bought the Corsair Hydro H80i as I can't fit the H100 to my case, I'm going to fit it tomorrow and see how the pc clocks up

Fitted it this morning and unfortunately I had to strip the board out to get the back plate on I have tweaked it to run at 4735ghz and it seems to run quite low idle temps as compared to a standard cooler on standard speeds. If its works well at this speed I think I will up the tuning a little
