Default Apple MacBook Chargers

Well! Not happy the connection has broke inside the l shaped MagSafe

Its been problematic for a while, but it's just snapped.

I've done a tempory fix by stripping it and resoldering it's not a permanent fix.

Anyone recommend where to get a 65w for a 13" MBP don't mind 3rd party but it's a minefield.

I have it only applies to the US and I've taken it apart already.

The 1 and 1/2 review on apples site says it all.

You should have tried Apple anyway, they'll sometimes honour a replacement even if it's out of warranty.

I have a trade supplier that has 3rd party replacement chargers for Macs. Are you sure its a 65W charger? They have 45W, 60W and 85W chargers available. The 60W is £27.50 delivered to your door.

These are not ebay specials, and I cannot give you a better price simply due to postage charges.

Spec of the 60W is:
APPLE COMPATIBLE MACBOOK / MACBOOK PRO LAPTOP POWER SUPPLY, 16.5V, 3.65A, 60W, 5 pin connector

Why would Apple design them to last when they can make so much money out of selling you more substandard rubbish. My first Mac had one that broke after 18 months. My new macs one broke after 11 months got a replacement under warranty, the new one has started being temperamental now and thats only 10 months old but as it was a replacement Apple only guarantee it for 3 months

Im beginning to think that Apple are all trousers and no substance. The earlier Apple products I had worked perfectly for many years. There recent items I have had have all started to show reliability concerns after only 18 months or so. For the price they charge I dont think I will be remaining loyal to them.

Just to add I bought a 3rd party charger from Amazon for £25 and it was superior to the Apple one in every way (except for aesthetics perhaps). I had an insurance claim on my Macbook 2 years and had to give it to the insurance company where they gave me a brand new Apple on unfortunately.

I have two chargers one two years old one five, both in great condition. The amount of times the Magsafe has saved my laptop I wouldn't mind one of them breaking.

You must be very fortunate. If they have saved your laptop many times I assume that means its been yanked off the laptops magnetic port. The very nature of their weak design means that with all that mistreatment what you say is quite amazing.

Thats the other thing about Apple chargers. They make them firstly white, and then out of that plastic that just attracts dirt. What possible reason is there for having a charger made out of something that is just not going to look good.

Not to mention that the Macbook Pro is silver and not white (like the standard macbook). The chargers should be a silver colour at least.

LOL Baby Wipes are quite possibly one of THE best cleaning cloths ever invented.
My kids are into their double-figures now, but I still buy wipes.

Brilliant.
