Default PC wont start

My sons pc wont start, if I remove some cables, specifically the HD power it will then fire up without, put it back in and it still starts, apparently it occasionally conks out, without the cables being removed it wont do anything, is that a Power Supply issue ?

Aria is easier and local. Scan is further but with a better choice and quality for similar money.

Id be looking at about £10-£15 - would spending more be worthwhile?

Try and make sure its at least 80 Plus Bronze rated if you can, personally i'd go for a full modular PSU, whats your budget ?

It just depends what your running in your PC and how much power the components need as to what PSU you choose.

Its a low to mid spec gaming pc, it has a Corsair PSU in it, will go for something beefier, suspect it may have been on the edge of ok and over time it has killed it, The video card failed so was replaced with something a bit better.

I'd go for something like this, thats plenty enough for the components you have, its silent and is semi modular so you can just plug in what you need. Only the 24 pin and 4 pin power leads are hard wired, you'd never need to unplug them anyway, everything else is modular.
