Default Changed iPhone 4 battery - percentage stuck

Changed the wife's iPhone 4 battery and now the % won't change been stuck on 8% it makes all the signs it's charging .

She's been using it all day and its still going but still 8%

What can it be?

I've ordered a 32gb 4S to replace it but I was hoping to give it my niece in November.

Reset and restore would be my first trick.

let the phone drain right down till it turns itself off then charge it again, apparently this re-calibrates the battery. may work may not work but it's where i would start before resetting and restoring

It's on ios6 so no jack, I've restored and reset.

Not tried battery calibration so that's next on the list I think.

I didn't think it was charging but it clearly is as the phones still running now

I had this problem after changing my sons battery on an iPod touch

I had to check the soldering of the three pins very very carefully - and redo them

Found a great post detailing the problem, once re-soldered the battery life was back to normal, (about 2 hours). If it is not done properly the motherboard does not get the correct charging signal or sumin
