Went out last week and purchased an ipad 3, great piece of kit.

Worked straight from the box, fired up straight away on itunes. I then went to throw a few movies on that I have didgital copies for. No problems.

Been using it for a week with no issues.

Then............

Fire it up this week end and try to drop a couple more movies on it [digital copies]. Have dropped these onto my iphone 4 previously so not corrupted. It starts clicking and whirring with all the right noises and actions [says copying 1 of 29] then just hangs there. Try it for another with the same results. Delete a movie already on the ipad and try to re-install same again [ 1 of 29 seems to be a common denominator here]. Have tried a few searches with no success.

Anyone have the same problem?

are the digital copies MP4 format? If not youll need to convert them for Ipad.

I paid £2.50 for a media player that will read other formats rather than having to keep converting. CineXPlayer. Allows you to take from iTunes as usual but they go straight to the media player. Instructions on how to do it are on the opening page of the app.

Yeah as said they work fine (the ones I transferred last week) but this week is a different matter. Just hangs then stops transferring.

I backed up iTunes last nite and will be reinstalling when I'm back home on Friday

Just annoying that the thing just stopped working. No random button pressing just stopped.

Have you authorised your computer and is the ipad set on your account? (i.e. not signed in on your sons/daughters/wifes account.)

Yup, all set up and registered on the same account.

I have to say that itunes does crash quite a lot when transfering date [tunes etc.]. Especially if I'm trying to 'Get Info' the thing quite often stalls.

Plan is to re-install and see if that fixes it.....
