Dial connection terminates downloading mail
#1
On my laptop running Windows XP when I download mail from my demon account the dial up connection just terminates, no messages or warnings. Web access is fine.
Fortunately I can access my mail from the web ok, but obviously that's a PITA.
I have been receiving a lot of viruses recently, intercepted by Norton Antivirus. I also run Norton Firewall.
Any ideas, it's really pi55ing me off...
Cheers

Assuming outlook express.....(I don't have windows XP by the way )
Check the tools->options window, then check connection.
Make sure the hang up after send/receive isn't checked.
Might be that....

Don't think so, it just disconnects straight away, without downloading anything (even though there is mail there). I'll double check later though just in case...

Simon,
Presumably you use Turnpike 6.0??
Is your mail delivered via SMTP (not POP3)?
Have you tried Demon support???
mb (another Demon user, happily still on Windows 98!)
