Copied from Apple. Anyhow the new iPad will have better graphics by the time MS get their fingers out and released a new console.

Eh!! you can't compare little ipod/ipad apps to proper games console games. Apple are soo far behind the xbox/ps3 in terms of proper cosole games its laughable.

What makes you say that? The iPad has better graphics and more memory than the Xbox and the PS3. More games are played on iOS than those two combined.

ipod/ipad games are quick and easy to play games which are quite small and take no time to play, its easy to play a game on your phone every so often when it costs 60p but I can't imagine anone wanting to sit in front of thier tv and have a few beers while playing say doodle jump or sheep launcher for hours

I'd love to see how you would play COD or Skyrim on a pad or pod.

I have just looked on Newzbin and Skyrim is 10gig so basically if the ipad could run it you could get the equivelant of five similar games on it before it was full as you would need he rest of the space for upgrades and interweb

I was thinking more about the lack of buttons. What's the point having a touch screen pad and then carrying a controller around too.

That's so 2007.

This can be played on your TV at a poxy 1080p or on the iPad at a much higher resolution. Way more than any PC or Console.

Pc games can be played at a res far far superior to the new ipad res but still the ipad is nothing more than a toy as any gamer would say its a merely a prtable interweb device with the added bonus of some fun gaming touches. If it was better than that why do we need say this

Not true. The resolution of the new iPad is way above PC gaming.

The current Apple products will no way on earth replace the current or next gen MS and / or PS home consoles for gaming. Apple and such products may make a dent in the handheld console market (as is being predicted) though.

It's getting close, it was only a couple of years ago that people were laughing when I suggested that the iPhone would make an impact on mobile gaming. Now with the iPad able to play at 1080p on your TV it's consoles that will feel the pressure.

Steve,
It has never been about specification of this versus that. We all know this to be true. The clear fact of the matter is that the "proper" gamers nowadays arn't you, myself or Jack. They are the 7,8,9,10,11,12,13yr olds..... these are the dudes that make you and I look like tards, playing something like COD MW etc. This is the gaming generation and they sure for **** are only interested in a 360 or PS3 at the moment..... until that changes the most sought after gaming device will be a traditional console.

Your splitting hairs now, I said pc gaming resolutions far exceeds that of the new ipad and I think I have proved my point?

I did highlight a £4000 apple laptop and all you can say is he was using 3 monitors? I would stick money on it his spec didn't cost that?

It's not getting close for console gaming. The control method is way to radical for people to accept and it also has it's flaws as we all know. When that changes (the method or the acceptance), than you have a point.

Steve is right... these devices offer gaming for the casuals, not gaming for the gamers. We are some way off that yet.

I have seen all the gaming toys you have and I think you fall into the above catogory as you have forgot about the old married/dating ones who like to play on console games as they aren't going out looking for girls

Plus i did say the ipad/ipod are jus casual fun games, I have a mountain on my phone and ipod and barely play any but I keep getting them as they are only 60/70p
