Apple have Changed Everything once again!
The iPad has better graphics and more memory than the PS3 and Xbox.
A resolution so great that it can only be shown on a 4k Cinema Projector.
And lots more of course, come over to Computer Related to slag Apple off and join the line for the Lemon Sucking competition.

Yes the screen that Samsung sold them as they have a one
The ipad now has a graphics chip better than a 5+ year old xbox, wow, roll on the new xbox
Give it 6 months (if that) and this ipad will be old hat, that is the way with technology, so prepared to be flamed quite a bit Jack

For me the best thing they could have done is made it lighter, they've instead made it heavier (presumably the larger battery).
Fairly underwhelmed, better screen (it was badly needed), and a bit faster CPU and GPU, and... that's it. Evolution not revolution.
Still not sure what the point is of having a screen which has higher resolution than my 46" TV. There's barely any content produced in that resolution, so tv and films wont benefit.

Im a little underwhelmed, not sure why and not even sure what I was expecting but I don't really feel a mad urge to upgrade my iPad 1.
However when I see it in the flesh I may change my mind

Pretty sure you said the same thing about the iPhone, iPad, iPad 2 and now the new iPad. Nothing has managed to knock them off the top spot yet.

Seems very nice I have to say. My folks purloined my ipad1 so I've been without for a couple of months.
I'll pick one up after the initial rush I guess. I really want one with the gps so I need the 4g version (can someone confirm this?), but unsure of the GB size yet. The new iphoto app looks nice too.

Everyone makes do with 1920x1080p the other side of the room because they can't see the pixels at that distance. An lcd monitor 1920x1200 at 15-24 inches away is using antialiasing on fonts etc so you dont see jaggies all over the place. Turn all that off and it turns into a pixel fest.
The screen on the iphone4 looks so much better than the original iphones. The old ones look quite pixely now, and I guess the difference will the same on the ipad.
It will be interesting to see what the other tablet makers do though over the next 6 months or so. However, yet again Apple raises the bar, and everyone else plays catch up.
Richie.

A nice spec that is without doubt. Not enough to make me want to upgrade from my ipad 2 .
However one of its big selling points is the 4G or LTE.
Now look at the coverage from the big three carriers in the UK
http://www.o2.co.uk/network/future
http://support.three.co.uk/srvs/cgi-...ile:mobileUser
(vodafone does not even have a map yet)
They are still arguing the toss on the spectrum so expect it rolled out at some point in the future by which time the ipad 4 will be out

So the A5x has dual core cpu and quad core graphics. The Tegra 3, already found in other hardware, has quad core cpu with a 5th companion core and a 12 core NVidia GPU that supports resolutions of up to 2560x1600. I'm guessing the HTC One X won the best smartphone 2012? If so, guess what processor that has? A phone, more powerful than Apple's newest iPad

As an iPhone owner, I have to say that the software/speed on the HTC One X does look pretty slick and the LG X3 does look pretty nice. I'm still going to keep my iPhone 4 (non S) and wait to see what 5 brings. As you have pointed out if they are going to use the A5X in the iPhone 5 in 3-8 months it might not be enough, only time will tell.
