Happy Christmas from Samsung

Jack you know I'm apple all the way now but really the article is old news, it has been known for sometime that nothing older than the s2 will get the ics update.
It's probably not right but that's how it has been for a while.

It's not old news, well you could call yesterday old I suppose.
Is it trolling? It's hardy a 'In your face' jab at Samsung, more an informative slap.
1 million hacked phones and 9 million hacked off customers, only days ago people on here were hyping Samsung as the best ever. People believe what you post on here you know.

Android is Opensource, that's what it's for ... bodging.
Intelligent tech savvy people will always choose something they can control. Apple is for the tech challenged sheep who need to be told what to do and how to do it

The iPads had people queuing to purchase / try out / speak to the sales assistants and the other tablets didn't have one person even near them. Even if the iPad users are 'sheep' then that doesn't matter to Apple; they are selling iPads in quantity and having spoken to a sales advisor they are signifignantly outselling all the other tablets combined.
It's sales that count to a manufacturer, this funds development and makes the best even better - obviously this works well for Apple and you don't get to be #1 by being crap.

Just a little taster of what's in store for Apple
Tony
UK: Samsung More Popular Than Apple
Samsung’s latest Galaxy Nexus campaign is boosting the smartphone brand's reputation, with popularity levels rising above Apple’s iPhone last week, according to a YouGov survey.
The adverts poke fun at Apple fans who camp outside stores for the latest iPhone release, as well as taking a swing at the device’s poor battery life and lack of 4G connectivity. While reminiscent of Apple’s own “Get a Mac” campaign, which took explicit jabs at Microsoft back in 2006, Samsung’s adverts cleverly avoid naming Apple or its flagship phone. The iPhone’s reputation fell at the time of Samsung’s first advert in late November. At the same time, according to YouGov's 'buzz score', there was an upward trend in Samsung’s popularity.
A record number of Samsung handsets has already been sold this year, and the release of the Galaxy Nexus, Google's new flagship device, means the trend is set to continue. Now it appears Samsung’s brand perception is also on the rise, leaving Apple behind for the first time since the launch of the iPhone.
According to the poll, the respective rise and fall in perception of Samsung and Apple is found mostly in adults aged 50 and over. It is likely that the lack of anticipated features such as 4G in this year’s iPhone 4S played a significant role in shaping these perceptions. The shifting attitudes will put further pressure on Apple to impress with their next iteration of the iPhone, expected in summer 2012.

Amazing what a bit of brain washing will do. No comment on Samsung dropping 10 million customers like rocks, but low grade survey appears that says Samsung is more popular than Apple and Samsung fans are not ripped off they're winners!
You mugs. You jumped on the Samsung bandwagon because you realised HTC were crap and you have a Samsung TV, now they're dropping you time to go running back to HTC I guess and carry on waving the Android flag.

It's funny that I went to two Currys / PC World stores yesterday and they obviously had a display of tablet devices, the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 plus other Android offerings, the Blackberry offering and of course two iPad 2's.

I know people say it's a completely different user experience etc. but at the end of the day if it is just web surfing and email you want then how different can it be..... for me it's about getting something done not how flashy the device is on which I do it.
I wonder how many of the iPad users across the word actually use it for something other than just surfing and emails.... most of the ones I see end up tucked away on a shelf somewhere .... like that oh so popular toy at Christmas that ends up unloved in the toy box by Easter!

The iPad is a sales success I grant you that (emphasis on the word sales there), but that is proof if ever it were needed after the likes of the Mk3 Escort or VHS video that marketing and might are what matters in the marketplace, not what features or capabilities a product has.
Let's not kid ourselves.... Apple could release anything and you lot would buy it, only this week you admitted to subscribing to iTunes Match without knowing what the heck it was ..... blind brand loyalty is a dangerous thing
Anyway I have to go and enjioy Christmas now so you have a good one too

That's fine for you. But unless I'm wrong Samsung still sell the S2, which is a fine piece of hardware - knowing the software will never get an update.

F1, you've progressively made yourself look more and more silly the whole year, as users of Apple products enjoy their use, you've tried to tell them they're wrong, even when it's obvious and I mean obvious they're right.
I subscribed to iTunes Match not knowing it's full feature set, I did know that the majority of my music would be matched and upgraded to higher quality, that and having a back up of my CD collection that's not in my loft was worth the £21.00 that I paid, a pill made easier to swallow by Apple saving me £90 a year by making some key services free this year.
Anyhow, do you have anything to say about Samsung or are you on the wrong thread?

CD quality, how quaint. These are made from Masters not CD's. Garbage in Garbage out. No doubt your collection is all from Masters Tony, otherwise you might have kept it zipped.

They may be made from masters Jack, even your bog standard CD is made from masters, but your quality will still be less than a CD
Thanks Apple for shafting your customers for £21 a shot

Ok I'm not comparing the same fruit here but imagine paying for a product that you can't get for over 50% of the time, now that is shocking.

Well there is apparently if your on any network other than O2, my brother is on Orange - put his '4 beside mine and he gets full 3G reception and I'm lucky to get 1-2 bars of reception.
And that's why I will be leaving O2, I've spoken to them and heard promises of signal upgrades etc etc that I know what BS is going to be given by O2 customer services as I know the script now myself.
