Default Minecraft

I played around a little bit with the alpha version a couple years ago - but didn't get into it much - but at the weekend there I bought the 1.0.0 released version and I'm blown away by this game.

The atmosphere is incredible given the nature of the graphics. Amazing feeling walking back up to your house, on top of a hill, after a day mining, with the sun setting and the piano music just kicking in

Can't remember the last game that had such a big impact on me. My two boys (6 and 4) are obsessed with it as well - to them it's a big virtual lego set

Lots of mods and the ability to build the world with seeds found by others is excellent. The multiplayer servers/worlds are incredible.

Anyone else playing?

Cheers
Richard.

I'm sorry it's ****, I honestly don't get it.

Also it pee's me off YouTube is full of it.

You can't view top10's with out it being full of gaycraft and MW3.

If you have enough time to play this it tells me one thing about the user "they need to get out more"

Its like virtual lego.
Strangely addictive and it can swallow up a lot of time. I spent hours and hours building a 10 floor mob grinder and then thought what the hell am i doing this for and packed it in.

I'm only a few days into it and between work and family are spending around 30 mins a day on it - so will be interesting to see how long my attention/interest lasts.

Very impressed so far.

I don't get it either. Read all over the net that it was amazing so thought I'd check it out. Just didn't see the point in it.

My new PC arrives early next week - so it will have to compete against Skyrim, MF3, MW3, etc - will be interesting to see how it fares :-)
