Default iPad data plans?

I've looked all over and can't seem to find what i want. Is there a PAYG deal for the iPad like on a mobile? as in you only top up when you run out/get low?

Cheers Jon, those like the ones I found seem to need a top up every month rather than when you run out. Is there one like that now as there used to be if I remember correctly, or are the networks being greedy now? If that is all there are then I'll have to get the closest one, just rather not have to top up when she doesn't need to.

I know what you're after and the 'three' deals seem to be the closest with a 1 or 3GB top-up that is valid for 3 months. I have a T-mobile dongle that I top-up the credit and then buy however many days access I need when I need it - https://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/ipad2/micro-sim/

How does the per day one work Jon, or is that a silly question

You get either 1 days access or 250GB whichever expires first, so if you don't use your 250GB in that day you lose it

TBH, the 'three' data options are better value for money assuming you get the coverage. That'll be my option if I get a 3G one for Christmas

Cheers for your help mate, looks like 3 is the one to go for. It's coverage really too, I mean it's irrelevant how good it is at home as it runs on Wi Fi. I suppose these days they're all pretty much as good as each other and if you can't get a signal then tough

I've just swapped to 3 from O2 and get much better coverage in my area (South Essex).

Just ordered a 3Gb/3month sim on the 3 network for £11.15 delivered from Amazon. Bargain!

Three do clone off everyone else's masts and buy up all the capacity which is why they have such good coverage but also can be a bit touchy if the mast owner's network is busy

Exactly this. I have several of them and just replace every 3 months (I rarely get anywhere near using the 3gb, but like having the capability of 3G whenever I need it).

I was in the same boat! After some googling I bought an orange 3G phone pay as you go sim with £20 preloaded for £12 delivered off the bay. Cut it to size of a micro sim (I used a sim cutter) put it in an type in the Vnn settings & away I go, not sure on the costs but I just use it as a just incase thing so I do not have the issue of paying monthly or it expiring.

Update.....

Bought the 3 card from Amazon on Sunday night. Arrived this morning. Proper iPad 3G micro sim so no cutting required!

3 months/3 GB for £11.15 delivered.

Get Christmas out of the way and I think I'll order a couple more!

The one I ordered came today too, in and away no messing about

Think I'll be ordering a few also, how long do they last before they expire? 3 months from when it's activated in the iPad?

Yep, 3 months from when it's activated in the iPad, not from when you buy it.
