Question

I have SCSI HD and will need another one as a big luck of space.
But what I've found that if I plug in IDE HD it always boots 1st even if the jumpers are set as slave.
What am I doing wrong?
Do I have to get SCSI HD?
Am I loosing any speed etc. if I get IDE isnstead of SCSI?

I know lotsa Q but help appriciated
thanks
robert

You probably need to go into your bios and select the scsi drive as the primary boot drive...

Don't put bootable software on the IDE for one thing!!

Is BIOS to set to SCSI boot? Is SCSI ID set as 1st or boot drive?

Should be a BIOS thing methinks (either m/board or SCSI).

Putting a drive as a slave doesn't make it not boot if it is bootable.

As you've already got SCSI, I would be inclined to get another one.
