sorry not **** related

so which would be better/faster

2 HDD on the primary IDE master & slave
cdrom & dvdrom on the secondary IDE master & slave

oh, also getting the HDDs to be in DMA mode, not PIO

Keep your HDs seperate from the CD & DVDs.

They should auto set to the relevent DMA mode unless BIOS settings haven messed with.

i think me new HD is cr@p. Sometimes it takes awhile before loading progs. Ive tried afew tweaks as ive a 350 P2 394mb & XP. Two hds, the new one ntfs, the old, fat32 which i will convert.

Go faster stripes anyone?

Yer old, slower, hard drive will slow down the new, faster, hard drive if they are connected to the same channel....
