Default Kindle Fire

Just caught this on the News. I have a kindle and use it as a "book"......at £130 for a "tablet" which I can use to browse the net on the loo seems a no-brainer

I'd definitely have one of these if I didn't have an iPad. Best alternative yet.

Seems interesting, will probably be £199 when released over here though. It cuts out all the stuff I'm not bothered about in a tablet such as camera and GPS.

Cool

It's a strange thing, because I think the iPad is too big to be convenient, but I think this may be just that too bit small to satisfy! There's just no pleasing some people...........

That said, I love my Kindle and that has a smaller screen than this, so my interest is definitely piqued!

Got to say that this looks VERY appealing - could certainly strike up concern with the competitors: especially the price.

Something that 50% of the iPad price, yet does roughly the same thing. Android tablets should be worried. Not Apple, as iPad is a premium-device that people will pay for.

Everybody else? hmmmm

Same form factor as my Samsung Galaxy Tab so it should be a winner.

I find the Galaxy Tab a perfect size for running the Kindle app on (its main usage), so this Fire gadget will be fantastic. I have tried the Kindle app on our iPad but it is just too big for reading for long periods.

Our eldest has held out all this time to get an e-reader of some sort, he nearly went for a Kindle last month but is now waiting for the Fire with great interest.
