Is it possible to buy an X-Box at Gatwick, say in the departure lounge so you can get it tax free?

Off on hols in a coupla weeks and fancy one too, if I can get it with no tax then

Cheers
Neil

Neil try looking here at the shops available. It shows that a Dixons is there, so you might just be lucky. Worth phoning them up and asking!

Edited to add that I know you can get Gameboys, etc... from there as we have done so in the past. However, it's a big old box so not sure how you'd get on lugging it around on holiday!

I bought my Canon Digi Ixus at Dixons Gatwick before flying out to Malta in, ooo, 2000. Keep the credit card firmly under control in there!

Thanks guys.

If they hold it for me to get back then that would be superb

Chris - Funny you should say that I was kinda hoping Dixons sold the Minolta S304 but I don't think they do!!! Expensive pre holi spend

Without tax I would expect the price of the Xbox (based on the reduction to 199) will be around 169. And games at around 38 quid

Wink

Neil, you might want to hold back on some games, as I believe I can get them for around £35! I have a friend who works at a reseller, who deals with many different disties, and they've all got the games on their list of items for purchase at this price!

Not that I want to be a smug basket but I can confirm that the tax free price of an X box is £169. No need to go through Gatwick when you live out here in the Channel Islands. VAT - what's that? Never heard of it.....

Same goes for games, DVDs, digital cameras, cars, bikes etc etc etc
