Nokia N8
Just got one of these from work, oh my gosh what a pain in the butt to set up and use. Feels nice in the hand though and the camera is good.

What's up? I'm still having trouble with it, it never stays connected to wifi and when I try to browse always tries to use 3G which won't work as I don't have any credit. I had to use google on my Macbook to find out how to open a website!! There's loads more tripe on this phone, no wonder they've kicked Symbian into touch it's a mess!!

Hi all
the most common problem with the Nokias is branded software i.e Orange / T-mobile / O2 etc, i would suggest getting it de-branded. You will find it will run quicker and a lot smother with the original Nokia software and should also fix WIFI issues too. I have also been a nokia user for many years but after trying a few of the later nokias i also found them crap compared to other manufactures.

I agree too and expect a big come back when the Windows phones come out. The handset itself and OVI maps are great. Windows will of course mean that the battery life will suffer, it is exceptional under Symbian.
The connection issues are better now I'm in the UK but it's still a pain to do pretty much everything.

I bought an N97 direct from Nokia, on contract, it was unbranded, and possibly the worst move i made.
Apart from the Hardware faults, (GPS & Camera), the software was poo, Symbian was not designed for touch screen.
The Os was so buggy, we became the beta testers for it... updates, dont make me laugh, as the phone was unbranded, we had to wait until all the other variants were covered before we got our update, that's providing that the other variants didnt have a problem, i lost count on the amount of times updates were pulled due to issues.
It's put me off buying Nokia ever again, and that's a shame, because the N95 MkII was a corker

I didn't until earlier today, wouldn't mind a play with that. I also had time to read up on the July update for the N8, looking forward to it.
