Been in beta for a little while, not had a chance to look at it yet, but as it'll be released next week I'd hope for a GM seed this week, so we'll have a look and play later. Got some things that use JS, so it'll be interesting to see if the speedup is just for Safari, of it it applies to anything that uses JS on 4.3.
Hotspot is interesting, though I thought it was something that carriers had to agree to support, but don't recall Steve mentioning that. Can't see networks letting people use it without gouging more money for it's use.

Even my old HTC Hero had wireless tethering for free, I could set up a wireless network on my phone, give it an SSID name change the security of it, WEP, WPA2 etc... then search and find it on any other wireless device. Why has it taken Apple so long to do? And why do they charge for it?
Am I right in thinking that up untill 4.3 you could use your phones internet through a wired connection only (un jailbroken phones), but had to pay for an app called MobileMe or something to be able to do it? I know the app probably isn't alot of money, but this is the sort of stuff that should be a basic, built in, feature of any smartphone and be free.
Also as far as I'm aware, iOS couldn't even do multitasking pre 4.0. Apple claim it is the worlds most advanced mobile operating sytem yet they seem to be playing catch up all the time. I really don't like iOS. Give me Android with HTC sense UI running on Apple hardware and that would be my dream phone.

Still was in stock 2.2, a year before apple, so
And do you have to pay for tethering in iOS?
I don't use mine either, if I need to use my phones connection I just plug it in through a USB cable.
Why did it take Apple so long to include this though? Is it a case of no one will probably make much use of it and so not a priority?

I think it was down to battery life more than anything.
For example you take your MacBook with you and plug it to the mains you may swell plug
The iPhone in to keep charge and to tether.
And like apple they like to look after themselves every mac has Bluetooth so never seen important.
You do have to pay for tethering unless you jb it

You might have noticed that capped data rates started appearing soon after Android became popular, suppose that might have something to do with Android users taking the ****. Bloody shame as now everyone pays.

Providers started capping the data usage after the iPhone 4. Several providers were still allowing unlimited data for android phones, so anti-android false information again.

The iPhone caused issues for all the mobile networks Tony? I would think O2 would have had the biggest issue and they knew what they were getting into.
