Guys,

My monitor has started flickering like mad, I've changed no settings and I've even put an identical monitor in its place and still the same problem...........what things might it be worth checking in the PC to eliminate the flickering as my eyes were really sore off it yesterday.......

cheers

Check to see if theres a sticker on the back of the monitor. It should say something like 50~60Hz. If not, check the manual or post the model so we can look it up for you.

Then go into the Control Panel, Display Options, Settings and adjust the Display frequency accordingly.

Assuming Windows of course

Question

Eh? the 50-60 hz is the mains ac frequency that the monitor can take. Has no connection with the monitor refresh rate. For that you have to look in the manual.

best thing for you to do is boot up in safe mode
then adjust your res in properties there
then re-boot and move it up a notch at a time to get the desired res without screen mashing up
