HP have come good. They've taken the excellent webOS from Palm and slipped it into some rather nice hardware.

Android was never a true competitor, too many versions on too many handsets, and free doesn't buy you much support. But hey, it's cheap.

RIM will be quaking in their boots, there wasn't much of a pie left for them and HP are chowing down on their slice.

Of course Apple will still reign supreme, but I'm pleased there's an alternative out there that I would consider.

Hardly KOT, the iPad 2 will be incredible. Just like every other iOS device has proven to be. And lets not forget that the HP product is only here because of the iPad 1.

Me too. But dont worry as I am a master of buying on the technology refresh curve and my gut instincts say. Buy the iPad 2 in April and if they do launch a new one in Sep there will be a marginal difference, one so small not to make you weep.



BTW this Autumn ipad 3 launch is pure speculation based on Apple's apparent reaction to the slew of competitors but as we all know Apple does things in its own time scale. A gap so small between models would not make sense unless one was for a different market, carrier or had a smaller form factor

Laugh if you like but how many Google Tablets have you seen and how many Google Phones were sold?

HP, Apple and RIM offer hardware and software. Android is just free software.

April, if the rumours are true. I heard the screens are difficult to manufacture, or that the demand was too big for the manufacturer.
