Found an old box of games
can a load and run a game from 10 years ago speced to run on Win95 on a machine running Win 7?
Do i need to load an emulator or something?

Use a virtual machine and load the games onto it. Quick walkthrough here (and link to a windows 95 .vhd file iin case you don't have the 95 disks):
