Default Recording from my Freeview TV possible ?

As above......

I've got a Panasonic plasma with built in freeview HD, is it easy to record to a PVR from it??

The AV forums suggest getting a set top box / PVR and using that to record then playing back to the TV

Anybody recording from their TV Freeview ??

Cheers

How old is the TV? As the 2010 Panasonic T.Vs I have have the option to plug in an external HDD drive into the 1st USB port and then using the set-up function be able to format the drive to the TV and use is as a recorder by selecting a program from the T.V Guide as well as Pause live TV etc...

Brilliant !! Thanks for that I bought it in August new from a Panasonic shop so it should be a 2010 model, I'll have a look at the instructions and have another look at the AV forums again....... If it works then it sounds Ideal

Cheers

Instructions say use the HDMI for recording from the TV ............can't see how that would work with the HDD ?

When you say PVR, you do mean one of these don't you?

If you already have an external hard drive, you will need some form of media controller

Dedrater

The Humax above has it's own tuners......., I was looking for something that can record off the TV via the HDMI without having signal from the ariel. I have no external HDD apart from the X-BOX Hard drive.

The reason I want to record off the TV is that the x-box is attached to the TV and I want to record programs whilst the boy is on Dragon Origins etc

just get any dvd /hdd recorder that has a scart input, aslong as your tv can output the freeview picture from one if it's scart sockets it should work

The Scarts are currently taken by the PS2 and the Wii (X-box is on HDMI)............

I was just wondering if I could get any record / playback through the remaining HDMI ports. If not I'll transfer one of the other consoles to Component and free up a Scart.
