Banned from a website.
One I used to use a lot, the admin was totally ****, and talked down to everyone, one night I told him so and am now banned.
Whilst I don't mind the ban, as I no longer post, I'd like to be able to read the site, but he appears to have banned me from looking in too
Any way round it?

Most sites (i.e ones which use some form of forum software) have settings ranging from guests can see just the welcome page, please join blah blah or guests can see the overall structure of forums, sections but no actual threads or they can view everything but not post.
It seems that your ex-admin has chosen the latter setting and as such no guest or anonymous browsing is allowed. Probably for a good reason judging by your nosey and stalking tendencies

I believe you put the website address in where it says "go" and it'll load it making it look like it's a different IP/proxy address to the one you've been banned using.

Typically if you use a different computer from a different network location then it shouldn't be able to "see" you as the same user.
Obviously if you login from the same computer with a different name it'll no doubt be configured to track things via IP address and could be set to auto-ban new accounts from duplicate IP's.

the easiest way to think about it is to use the analogy of telephony
they have caller ID on -- and they drop all calls that match your home number (in IT terms your public IP address) - whoever is calling it you, me your wife etc etc will be blocked because the number comes up even before they determine who is calling.
in which case you only have 1 option - change the number you call from
