Default copying media from pc to ps3 over network

What's the easiest way to configure a pc/windows 7 to be 'seen' by a ps3 in order to copy movies/music to the ps3 (all wired connections into a linksys router)?

i tried the homeserver/sharing b0ll0x, but no way. of course, my mac just shows up on the ps3, but i don't have the tv on mine.

any ideas?

Set the PC up as a media Server - then you can stream to your hearts content

Use a program called TVersity.
I use that on my xbox to stream movies to it from the pc and my mate uses it on his ps3

You shouldn't need to use TVersity anymore, just set up the PC as a media server as described above.

(TVersity was useful as it allowed DivX to be played before the Xbox natively supported it).

The easiest way is the allow Windows Media Player to work as a media centre.
You have to turn on the sharing option under services.msc

Or as mentioned us the media server apps.
I tried this recently, to copy a largeish video file to my ps3, 6.8GB. They all took ages on a wired connection.

I tried:

TVersity
Twonky
PS3 Media Server
and enabling WMP

The fastest one was the PS3 Media Server: http://ps3mediaserver.blogspot.com/ but it still would have taken in excess of 3 hours to transfer (I gave up in the end). All the others were slower!

They were all good at streaming, but I've never seen the point in having your PC on, to watch a film on your PS3.

Yes. I bought a network attached storage device (A D-link DNS-323) with 2tb for that very reason ...
