Proper tech question - HDD and SSD problems
I've asked on puter specific forums but had no luck with this one.
I've got a Crucial 128M225 SSD and a WD 1.5TB green HDD.
I've had ongoing issue with all games freezing and sound looping randomly whilst in game. The only game that didn't do it was the one on the SSD.
I made a fresh Win7 install with nothing other than the drivers for the graphics card (ATI 5770) and sound (Xonar) and put a game onto the HDD - same problem.
Reinstalled the game on the SSD - no problem.
Anyone heard of this before??? Is there anything I can do to solve it? other thank junk the SSD in favour of the HDD.

I had a problem similar to this not so long ago which was fixed by re-jigging the the sata leads to different sockets on the motherboard. Can you look at the windows logs, what is in there at the time of the crash?
to check the health of the HDD this may be useful

I'll look at the leads.
It is clocked but the problem occurs whether clocked or on stock settings.
I'll check the HD health but it is brand new.
I played Borderlands for 2 hours this morning and got 2 lock ups. This time it needed a ctrl, alt, del and the game just un-froze and carried on. This is different to before and the music kept going rather than looping.
Going to try a different graphics card and see if it keeps doing it and then try the build with the OS on the HD rather than the SSD and see what happens.

Sounds like a driver issue
Have you checked for all the latest drivers for your mobo? sound, graphics etc?
Have you also ensured all the leads (including power) are plugged in? have you any monitoring progrms that run in the background (cupz, gpuz etc?)
