Default Anyone Good At .bat Files?

Remember them?

I'm after one to replace a bit of text in an ini file depending on the input

ie

Run puff.bat

>Prompt "Enter text"
>Store text to puff.var
>Copy c:\puff.ini c:\puff.old
>Replace text in c:\puff.ini with puff.var

etc

Essentially its to change a single on/off value in a large ini file as we are always forgetting to change it back.

Guess I could have an off copy and copy over existing according to schedule but the problem is that lots of the other parameters in the file might change during the day and its only this one value I wish to change.

Or alternative ideas welcome
