Question Save videos off BBC website (not iplayer)

I’m looking to save a few videos off the bbc website to keep.
Its not from iplayer so most of the stuff I’ve googled doesn’t cover these vids.
I’ve got a youtube save and convert to wmv application but it doesn’t work on these BBC ones.

This is one of the videos for example:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/bigweeke...ists/pendulum/

So, if you have any suggestions on what I can use to download the above that would be great.
Please note things like torrents, linux, etc, are a foreign language to me so a downloadable piece of software would be nice!

Cheers, Carl.

Thanks suba, but unfortunately that’s one I had looked at and is just for iplayer, so no good for me.

What you are after is an RTMP "Real-Time Messaging Protocol" flash stream recorder.

The BBC use Flash, so install Orbit and use the Grab++ function within the program, I don't see why that wouldn't work, but will try it later for you.

The exact URL for that video if you get stuck is;

rtmp://92.123.154.188:80/ondemand?_fcs_vhost=cp41752.edgefcs.net&auth=daEcB acbjchaKaxbDaKa2bMdDdAcnakdWcR-bmaak1-bWG-InnEJpDnLBqFwwI&aifp=v001&slist=secure/800kbps/clarkt11-00013620-pendulum_performanceedit_ND_Flash9_Med_v1_0|ondema nd?_fcs_vhost=cp41752.edgefcs.net&auth=daEcBacbjch aKaxbDaKa2bMdDdAcnakdWcR-bmaak1-bWG-InnEJpDnLBqFwwI&aifp=v001&slist=secure/800kbps/clarkt11-00013620-pendulum_performanceedit_ND_Flash9_Med_v1_0|mp4:se cure/800kbps/clarkt11-00013620-pendulum_performanceedit_ND_Flash9_Med_v1_0|http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/10player.sw...9_Med_v1_0.flv

Default use get_iplayer

i know this is a very old thread but was looking for the same type of answer so i could download from the bbc archives.

get_iplayer can do this (windows installer here) but you might need to use the commandline to do it, the web pvr might have the functionality but i haven't investigated.

the commandline code is:
get_iplayer --url <insert url here>

e.g. i wanted the first episode of tommorrow's world here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/archive/tomorrowsworld/8001.shtml
so my commandline was:

get_iplayer --url http://www.bbc.co.uk/archive/tomorrowsworld/8001.shtml

if there are different resolution videos available you might be able to download higher res etc but i've not experimented with that

No need to install anything these days, there are scrips that automate all this now.
