Default Windows 7 & wireless streaming

Guys,

I've a PS3 which I used to stream via wireless quite happily from a laptop with XP

But with windows 7 its terrible.
Even a simple MP3 takes maybe 45 seconds to start streaming and even then its stop/start

Anyone else streaming with Win7
I'm using the java PS3 media server
I also tried tversity yesterday - same thing.

Seem to be a common problem searching via google, but no solutions except moving to a wired connection which appears that people have had sucess with.

Cheers,
SHaun

OK, I found something wrong with the router aerial, so steaming seems to be sorted.

Actually tversity seems to be much better than the Java media server.

But...............

I seem to be getting DLNA 2104 errors on the PS3 which I've never had before when trying stream something large - tversity doesn't appear to think anythings has happened, but I have to restart the media service.

I found windows 7 better for streaming over wifi than XP. I used WMP12 and just make sure the option on the drop down menu to share and allow streaming is ticked. That is to a 360 though.

Issue are often firewall related I found.

Where would one find that?

You wouldn't believe the difference tightening the antenna on the wireless router made to the PS3.
It was a bit loose, but not massive, it maybe took just over 1 turn to make it tight.
Thinking back I had problems recently and had BT engineers out, so I suspect they've maybe disturbed the connection and my moving over to windows 7 is a complete red herring.

But alas, large files still seem to drop the connection or something?
