Default Driver Updating

Hi all,

Having recently reloaded win xp I am trying to update the drivers on my ibm pc (i don't have the utilities disc)... I have been warned in the past of the dangers in loading the wrong driver so have been trying to find a program that will do it for me.

There seems to be no end of driver scans on the net that will tell me that the drivers are out of date, but all then seem to want to fleece my wallet when it comes to downloading the drivers I need.

If I carry out a search, I can find literally hundreds of drivers, most of which can be downloaded for nowt... Is there an easy way of determining & then downloading the correct drivers that are req'd for my system.

Thanks in advance
Phil

Do you know the make and model of your PC? If so, go to the manufacturers web site. If it's and IBM as in I Built it Myself, then take it apart and identify the components then go to their website.

If you can't do either of those, go here http://driverpacks.net/ and read a bit.
