Any ideas guys?
My mate came over with his Packard Bell Iconnect PC with Windows ME on it. And he wanted to put Win Xp on the machine. That's now done and Xp is running fine. Any way he has a Belking wireless card in it, this one: http://www1.belkin.com/support/produ...D6001&scid=221
Now, the green light comes on when the computer is on. But the machine will not detect it for some reason?? And when in Device Manager i have a yellow triangle with a ! on Network Controller!!!? Now I've downloaded and istalled the drivers for the card but still nothing!!?
Any ideas please folks?
P.S. The mobo is a Gigabite GA-6Wmm7
P.P.S. I've told the tight b@stard to buy a new one

Does it definitely say F5D6001, on the card? and you installed XP 32 bit? If so, uninstall the drivers and take out the network card, reboot.
Reinstall the drivers (without the card plugged in) power down and plug the card back in, reboot and let XP find the drivers for it.

When i click on the Belkin utility it's saying: There are no wireless network adaptor cards installed. Yet the green light on the **** end of the card is on??!!!

Yes i did install version 1. The thing is, it's not showing in Device manager?? There are no network adaptors showing at all. To view them i have to click the view tab and then show hidden devices?

I know it doesn't answer your question but I would tell him to bin it and get a new one and stop being a tight b**tard, they sell 80211g ones on Amazon for about a tenner which will be about 5 times quicker than his 80211b card. That's for the USB ones, if he has USB on his computer that is.

Apart from updating with device manager or doing a windows update or a hardware scan for changes, then I am not sure Mr I.
Didn't realise it was a pure B card though, pmsl, that baby is antique, sell it to a museum.
