anyone a fan of Parallels on mac?
I am now
I have to occasionally remote into my work pc from home and it's just easier to vpn from a windows environment for some reason
Anyhoo, i am using Parallels 5 with a vista64 virtual machine and, in coherence mode, it's awesome - effectively windows icons in osx and pretty fast too!
okay it's alot nicer with 8gb ram and 2 dedicated cpu cores for the VM - i'm not sure what my 4gb macbook pro would do with all that.
work *is* easier in a nice desktop

I had used Parallels since the first public beta of it, and it was pretty stable back then. It is a very good product. I think I'm on the latest version, but I don't use it that much as I've switched to VMWare's Fusion.
The reason for the switch was that VMWare supported a server OS (Netware) that Parallels did not. If PDM had supported Netware, and unless something has changed, they still don't, then I would still use it.

yep just bought this as part of macupdate deal cost $49 for 10 bits of software inc parallels latest version. Very impressed with it, only downloaded to restore some data off a laptop that had corrupted the OS installing a service pack...
Made it much easier that having to get a different laptop, even the .Net developers at my work were impressed with my macbook running win 7
