Question IPod film to DVD

What's the best way to transfer an IPOD movie, to DVD?

I bought Star Trek with an iTunes gift voucher at Crimbo, and want to watch it on the LCD.

Any ideas? It's an m4v file.

If you're using a Mac then this will be helpful

How to Convert M4V to DVD on Mac for Free

I will add that, I think whatever way you do it, you're inevitably going to lose some quality, once you compress you can't go back!!

Thanks Hanley, I am quite familiar with Google but as you can see from the search you, so helpfully supplied, there are quite a few options available.

I was hoping for some actual recommendations.

Sorry mate I wasn't being facetious.

I thought I'd also mentioned Handbrake as Markus has suggested.

I use it to go from DVD to M4V so I'm sure it'll work the other way around.
I'll give it a go on one of my conversions.

Okay I've just had a quick look at Handbrake and the only output options are M4V and MKV

Try looking at this:

http://www.xilisoft.com/video-converter.html

I've use Xillisoft DVD Ripper before and it seemed okay, you can download a free trial.

I've just downloaded a trial version of Xilisoft Ultimate Converter and it's in the process of converting one of my M4V files to DVD VOB format.
