Gran Turismo 5 - gets day & night + WEATHER
GT Planet calls all this 'incredible news' and lists their pick of the OPM preview as:
1,000+ vehicles
All vehicles have modeled cockpits (170 premium cars will have interior damage modeling)
All vehicles will have both physical and mechanical damage modeling
Indy (IRL) cars and tracks
NASCAR cars and track
Up to 16 players online
High-definition video uploads directly to YouTube
Multi-display rendering
Head-tracking
Full weather and night racing on all tracks
Night/Day on all tracks

All they need to do is release it now 
It does seem to be suffering from what us developers call "feature creep". Trouble is that you run the risk of putting so much in that you do none of it very well. Fingers crossed that they manage to make something that's enjoyable to play...

I'm reserving judgement. I'm getting bored with Forza so I'm hoping GT5 will prove to be a bit better / have more variety (if they ever release it).

All these great additions and features seem a bit pointless if they never actually release the damn game!

Im hoping its good, then i will bring my PS3 out of retirement... The main reason i never use my PS3 is because the 360 controller is 10 times better so i am always put off buying games for the PS3

is GT5 the game that was supposed to be released when the PS3 or was that an earlier GT?
Can you crash cars yet as I remember on the original you could just bounce all the way round the track?

I think it still has the GT patented 'invisi-barrier' but it does have damage now.
GT5 will shift so many PS3's but I feel sorry for the people who got a PS3 years ago expecting it (same as the PSP with GT mobile)
