Please recommend a PC FPS game
Recently completed STALKER Clear Sky and need a replacement game for my PC. Currently playing through CODMW2 on the PS3 so don't want a PC version of that.
Got my eye on the following
Borderlands
L4D (Or L4D2)
Chronicles of Riddick (looks quite good and is cheap)
Fallout 3
Mass Effect
Call of Jurez
Anyone got opinions on the above? Something to fill my time before STALKER Call of Pipyrat is released in UK.

Riddick is about 5quid at the moment on steam.
I bought it for the 360 but could not get away with it
I quite like the look of Borderlands myself and plan to pickup a copy at some point.

I'd pick Fallout3 over Borderlands. Fallout3 does a better job of the waste land type RPG game. It's massive and has a lot of missions. I found Borderlands too cartoony for me, but it's good for mulitplay/co-op action apparently
L4D2 for a pure action shooter - completely differrent to Fallout3/Borderlands/Mass Effect. Does not require you to think, just pick up a gun and start the killing.

Fallout 3 was in Tesco for £18 so I bought that. I'll go for the others mentioned in due course I think.
Not sure on L4D really. If its a case of picking up a gun and killing people online nothing does it quite as well as Team Fortress 2 (IMHO)

I would also look at Dragon age Origins, won the RPG game of the year a few weeks back at the VGA, has over 80hrs of play and doesnt require you to be on line either, but being on line means you get some downloads etc and they are updating bits here and there (new expansions etc) that are available for a small fee.

I keep getting booted whilst playing MW2 on my PS3 - although I bought the orange box and never been booted from a TF2 game. No matter as I much prefer TF2.
Well, played about 6 hours of Fallout 3 and it feels like I haven't even started hope it gets going because its a bit slow.

I had Call of Juarez on the PS3. The graphics arent up there with current gen games and single player was a bit slow to start with but quite entertaining as you get into it. Fairly short. As with most games I end up spending most time online and CoJ was pretty darn good as a western FPS. With some novel gameplay ideas like Wanted where best player gets selected to stay alive for 1min and other team hunts him down via icon on map. So your team really has to defend you rather than just roaming to get kills.
If your a singleplayer only type of player then I wouldnt recommend unless its at a decent price now. If you dabble in multiplayer then Id give it the thumbs up. I havent played since getting Uncharted 2 and now MW2.

I've been playing FO3 pretty much solid since I bought it.
Levelled up to 17 and have done all but the last main quest and most of the side missions. The game seemed to force me towards the final quests so I made a point of doing some of the side missions which were OK but didn't feel very worthwhile and most seemed to lose me Karma.
Lack of ammo is annoying
Lack of health is annoying
Lack of money is annoying
Use of drugs is hit and miss and end up addicted
Bugs, crashes have been an issue (makes STALKER look rock stable IMHO)
Still can't put it down though. I bought the GOTY edition so have all the add ons.
