Arma 2 - free update incoming
Mega patch 1.05 inbound
Some features....
New extra campaign featuring......
AH64 Chopper
New Warfare MP mode
Improved AI (iirc the ai is being offloaded onto a spare cpu core if you have one)
BattlEye anti cheat
Linux Dedi Servers
DRM removal
"Grass layer" to conceal player when prone
Freetrack Support
Texture Streaming Optimised
The texture streaming optimisation is probably the best thing, as i have been testing some of the beta patches for a while and this really sorted out some of the stuttering when playing.
IMHO if the game shipped in the condition it is after testing the recent beta patches, it would have sold a hell of a lot more copies.
Free DLC = always a winner in this day and age.
PS. ACE2 mod was released quite recently as well with a ton of new content for free

Pc only@the moment.
They were supposed to be trying to get it running properly on a 360, but it was never going to happen imo, its tooooo under powered for the game. Plus you have a squillion keys

Its nothing at all like MW2 to be honest, i will give you a little tale of my game last night, as i am bored sitting in the office at work with nothing to do
For example, last night 25 of us played a co-op mission (around 2.5 hours)
All in separate squads, with a chain of command, start the mission off, (its a veteran difficultly mission)and its pitch black, no NVG`s, some squad members have a tactical torch fitted to the supplied gun.
So basically you have to move from the start point through a pitch black forest, sticking with a bloke who has a torch, half way through the forrest starts getting lit up with gunfire and explosions, fecking AI enemy's ambush us total mayhem, i hid behind a tree as i took a bullet to the leg and patched myself up, one of the medics got wiped out
Total confusion in the forest at one point as it was getting hard to tell if the shapes were friendly or not? so i saved my ammo and let everybody else do the killing, as we move through the forest to the first objective, it starts to lighten up a little, we take the basecamp by force
Inside the enemy basecamp are some ammo boxes, medical supplies and chem/light sticks, so we stock up.
You can attach a chem/lightstick to your uniform, so we all do this to help us know who is who, green for specialists (MG gunner-AT guy-Sniper etc etc) blue for normal soldiers, yellow for team/squad leaders and red for medics.
Off we go to the next objective which is take a small town etc etc.
Took us around 2.5 hours to complete the mission as there is a bit of downtime waiting for orders and such, the guy who was supposed to be bringing the satchel charges was a noob, he stupidly picked up an insane amount of ammo, he kept asking us why he was passing out, and then he told us that he had 73kgs of ammo on him ? so he dumped a load of it and had to sit down for 5mins as nobody had any ephedrine to perk him up (medic got smoked, as explained before lol)
The donkey dropped the satchel charges, which we needed to blow 4 stationary tanks in the town to continue telling us that they were about a mile away and on the road "he thinks" in the fecking dark
Anyway that's pretty much the game is played, we were only around 1/3 way into the mission, its more mil-sim then anything else, you can find much easier daytime missions, you can also find some arcades type servers kicking about, but i stay well clear of them (so do most to be honest) 50 player co-op, when played with proper structure and orders, is genuis IMO
After the mission ended, i had no deaths, 1 kill ? and i had shot about 3x200 bullets through the MG i used, plus a few from the AK i stole from a dead bloke when i ran out of ammo for the MG

o right, tbh with alot of games liek this i find you need a good bunch to play with and that is just if not more important thant he games itself.
eve online is a good example, 3 ears on and going strong, but i bet if i didn't fly with the people i do i wouldn't still be there

I would agree, its all about the people you play with in this one, i never even finished the single player campaign, yet i have about a hundred hours logged on the multiplayer side.
