How do you put a digital signature in a document?

I tried one program: Co-Sign, and spent almost an hour trying to do a digital signature! and then when I saved it and tried putting it in the Excel document as per the video instructions absoloutely nothing happenned!

What does everyone else use?

Not too clued up personally but couldn't you just scan in your signature then insert it as an image?
