That was the problem, i opted for the 3850 in the end

Had one for about a month.... beleive it or not all the online sites had not got em in stock.

Went to local PCworld and bought a 3870 for same price as DABS/eBuyer/microwarehouse.

What a top bit of kit.... syncs a treat to Outlook, Bluetooth is real cool (except bloody Orange havent got a decent Nokia phone with it yet). Windows Media is real good for ripping tunes and with a headset sounds failry decent.

Battery life is pretty good too. Have a look at Compaqs site - they are about to release a GSM/GPRS sleeve for them to turn them into a phone !

but why would you want the gsm/gprs sleeve?

As a phone, the iPaq would be massive and probably very uncomfortable to use.

Only way it would work was if they actually got the drivers sorted out to use something like the Ericsson bluetooth headset.

iPaq + T68 + headset is a much better solution (IMHO). Best of all worlds as you have full GPRS plus can just pop the phone in your pocket if you don't want to take the ipaq.
