Google DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter.
Together these are all you need. Theres also a couple of firms on the net that'll do a mail order scratch removal service for a couple of quid but i've never had an joy with them fixing CD's of mine.

Just pay £2.50 to have it skimmed?

You get to keep your nice original disc, and it looks loads better then some knock off nigel burned dvd rip

Of course the above plan wont work if you have your hand your disc back into blockbuster or something like that

Thinking back, are you not the chap who admitted that he had downloaded some xbox games, but it was ok as you promised us you were going to buy the real game? (might have been gta4 )
If so why have you not just downloaded a dvd rip of this

IIRC, when you buy recorded media you are paying for the license to use the intellectual content, not the carrier medium, and as such you can return it to the point of purchase for a replacement if it ceases to work, although most people don't keep the receipt.

your not just paying for the license, the money also pays for the medium, case, cover, artwork distribution, etc, etc etc

DVD Decrypter won't work for newer titles.

Download AnyDVD, that will take care of the encryption and then use any program to copy it, I prefer DVD Shrink.

If you're using DVD Shrink then use the Backup option but remember you need to select the root of the disc otherwise it will only do the main movie.
