Final Fantasy 12
OK - I know this is a couple of years old now but how MASSIVE is this game? Is there a bigger game out there?
I played for about 50 hours and then our second son was born and so didn't play it for a year. I am now back into it, over a 100 hours and stunned by how much more stuff there is. I am very near the end of the story line and am now clearing up all the hunts, sidequests and optional Espers and stuff.
It is HUGE. Resistance 2 is about the same size as one of the key sidequests in FF12!!!
Really looking forward to 13.
Any other FF fans out there?

FF7 was legend. You are right - it went downhill a bit.
FF12 is superb - all the best bits of 7 put into a huge Tomb Raider plus landscape.
Chef - not really like WoW - it is a role playing, strategy type game. If you have never player FF it will probably seem quite daunting. My experience is that WoW type games are very simple by comparison.
In FF you have a series of quests through a fully interlinked set of worlds. There is no set play per se, but as the story line unfolds and you solve quests you unlock more and more worlds.
There is a core story line and around 50 side games of varying degrees of difficulty (10 mins to 5-6 hours).
You have six core characters and over time you can earn/buy capabilties to make yourself stronger and stronger.
Fights are strategy fights where you need to make the right plays rather than bash your keys faster than your opponent.
