Default usenet servers - help / advice

I have never used these types of services, so would like some advice.

I am in to downloading things (ahem) and wondered what benefit this type of subscription service gives me over BT sites etc?

I only have a 4mb connection, so would I see any great benefit by using this type of service over BT sites?

What are the best servers to sign-up to?

How easy is it to use etc?

I use www.newshosting.com - great value and pricing. Fast speeds.

I then use NewsLeecher :: Download binaries from the usenet with ease as my download client and you must also sign-up for Newzbin - Login for easy listings (nzb files make life easy).

Cheers
Richard.

I use news.astraweb.com - Usenet News Server - $10/month for there service £9 pcm and i get my full 50mb download speed.

I then bought this reader NewsBin NNTP Usenet Binary Newsgroup Robot i tried to get a "free" version but all loaded with viruses so paid $30 ..$5 discount through astraweb.

and i use Binsearch -- Usenet search engine for my search engine to find the .nzb (stuff you wanna download).

and yes its a noticable difference over BT as it should download flat out not depending on seeders.

I use Usenet Newsgroups Service, News Servers, Usenet Access - Giganews as it offers 365 day retention, worth an unlimited account if you're a big downloader.

Get NewsBin NNTP Usenet Binary Newsgroup Robot as the newsreader.

Get .nzb files from Newzbin - Login

Astraweb definately appear to be the cheapest around at the moment.

I've just switched to them after using Giganews for over 4 years.

Yep, Astraweb here too; can't fault them. Alt.binz is my client of choice.
